Eagle PRIDE Promise
Prepare. . . for learning everyday. Bring your agenda, homework, library books, and all materials that you need for class everyday. Being prepared for school each day also includes eating breakfast, getting a good night’s sleep, and knowing about your afternoon plans before you come to school.
Respect. . . yourself and others. This also means that you should respect the property of the school, the teacher, and your classmates. Showing respect means listening to the opinions and ideas of others without interrupting them. This is especially important during class instruction.
Implement. . . self-control. This means that you should value the personal space of others, stay in your seat, wait your turn, and follow directions. You should also keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Think before you speak or act!
Do. . . your very best every day. Start your day with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE!
Encourage. . . those around you. Be helpful to others and avoid comments or actions that might be hurtful or embarrassing.
Oakwood Elementary’s Attendance Program
Oakwood Elementary School’s new Attendance Program is to encourage students to be at school every day.
Each grade level will be given an Oakwood Eagle. The class within each grade level with the best attendance percentage will be presented with the Eagle on Friday. The Eagle will be placed above their door for the new week.
Each month an award will be given to the students with 100% attendance. The awards will be presented during the morning announcements.
*Tardiness, as well as absences are counted against this percentage.
Every 9 Weeks
A Photo Board will be placed in the hall to show class pictures of students who have 100% attendance.
The students’ names will be placed in a drawing for a prize each 9 weeks. Their names will also be placed in a drawing at the end of the year for a grand prize. Students with 100% attendance and 95% attendance will receive a prize.
